Midnite audio from early 2000’s
December 03, 2019 05:40AM

Does anyone have any audios or videos of Midnite’s 2002 or 2003 west coast tour that they’re willing to share?

Even if it was a minidisc in your pocket, I want to hear the songs.

I’m sure I wouldn’t be the only one to be grateful.

Yeah I watched that Monterey video. Incredible performance by Midnite, but that canned crowd noise is horrible!

This show from the Trenton Music Hall in Charlotte NC is so so good. It’s probably a minidisc recording from somewhere in the crowd, but you can still hear everything. The set list is great, the vibes bubble nicely. I looked up the music hall and the place looks like an amazing venue.

First time seeing Midnite was SNWMF '03 closing out the Village Stage on Sunday night...Changed my life, honestly...

Who else was there?

Then saw them many times at the Vet's Hall in Santa Cruz '03-'05, best shows I've ever been to...Thank you for posting...

This video from San Diego 2005 is really good too:

I've watched it twice all the way through since Vaughn's passing.

This song is from the 2/29/2003 Vets Hall show in Santa Cruz. For some reason it isn’t on the single track audio with the rest of the show (link up in this thread)

(It’s actually 9/29/2003)

People Iz I. One of my favorite Midnite tunes, love the upbeat riddim!

The first time I ever saw Midite live, at 19 Broadway in Fairfax in either 2003 or '04, I had recently purchased the Geoman album and they played this song & I was loving it!

I think this Ras for a Reason might be on the first half of the 2 discs of the Tahoe show that I used to have. The second half is easy to find. I’m not giving up in my efforts to find that 1st cd that had a long version of knocka fia, I will share it if I ever find it.

Thanks Daniel. I hope I live long enough to hear and see some of these shows from that time.

All due respect to nomotrouble for all the shows he’s given us, but that later set with Ron on bass is just not the same as those early tours with Dion, Philip and Abija.

I have the earlier part of the River Ranch show. It is pretty bad quality, I recorded it out of my pocket onto mini-disc and there is a lot of crowd noise, but it does include the long version of Knocka Fia from that night.

I used to have a Midnite CD that lived in my player and consisted of only 3 tracks. The previously mentioned 16 minute Knocka Fia from River Ranch, a 25 minute version of Bushman and this 24 minute version of Mighty Race.

Recorded at the Truckee River Amphitheater on September 3, 2005, it features some wicked dubbing courtesy of Loren at the controls.
