C'mon people, these are all good artists and for the most part solid albums. There are plenty of wonderful albums not acknowledged here, but at least it doesn't look like the lineup for Cali-roots. I mean this is the first time in a few years that I actually have listened to and enjoyed all the albums nominated. If Koffee wins with an EP, she will truly have the most accelerated career I have seen in Reggae. Overall though, my vote is for Steel Pulse and Third World. But there is a Marley here, so the odds are historically in his favor.

Well I will confess that, unlike the past 3 or 4 Sly & Robbie nominations, this is an album i actually heard about prior to the nommies being announced.

A helpful reminder to aid and reconcile sentiments of dissatisfaction in results counter to hopeful expectations.

I think it’s worth mentioning Rootfire. The charity arm of Ineffable. Ineffable produces the California Roots Music Festival. They really came thru for Steel Pulse and for reggae by providing no interest loans to bands who need it.

he lost his 12y daughter this year. i didn't know until i went to pay respect to Bob in Nine Mile earlier this summer when i learned that she is also resting there. He still gave us a great show. Maybe its healing also.

Condolences to Julian and mother. I am sure it is a healing to keep playing forward in those circumstances. Dezarie and Ron played 3 shows the week Vaughn passed. More love and healing in these times.
Jah Bless
