1991/1992 I first heard typewriter on the community radio station.
I then remember seeing an ad in 'The Beat' for 'Half-Way Tree Records' in Houston TX.
I called up the owner, we talked for a bit, and after he received my money order, he then sent me a mix tape
showcasing this song and many others on the same riddim.. Which is basically just a re-lick of the Punanny riddim.

Good times..

The greatness of 'B' from "east AL" --east Alabama...

BV, his business , the 'Dipper" is still going strong if I'm correct.

His store, back in those days, was right on the edge of Missouri City on Hodges street... He kept getting ripped off so he moved down to Alvin where he still is today....

B had some great stories about Owen Gray and Alton Ellis....also Alton's lp "Sets A Better Example" was on the Half Way Tree Label....

I hope B is well , its been many years

Big up Ken. I have a cousin in Rosharon and that's about
as close to Alvin that I'll get. Unless I take the back way to the nearby oceanic gas station(Galveston)

Otherwise you'll find me in the formerly remote piece of rice field I also call home.
Although currently I'm in the San francisco area.

Wow , the only thing I remember about Rosharon is stopping there on the way back from Galveston to gamble a little semi-legal Keno at some batterered strip mall with no signs winking smiley
