Jonathan Paul Clegg († June 7 1953 - July 16 2019 ) was a South African musician, dancer and anthropologist.
Please, remember with emotion Johnny Clegg and his group Savuka, exulting their anti-apartheid hymns to freedom.

Johnny Clegg was a dedicated artist who will undoubtedly remain in the hearts of his fans and honored in the music world.

I'm so sad to see this, cancer really sucks...his early music made a big impression on me as a young person, including protests of Bank of America/Apartheid for their support of South Africa's government at the time....Savuka and him were fire together....

It was he , Johnny Clegg, who aroused my interest in African Music, not Paul Simon or Peter Gabriel

But I say... Some Never Even Plant yet want to Reap,
If you run, be careful, try to look before you leap;
Took a little walk from my Vineyard...
Now I'm on my own
Now I'm left alone..
