SNWMF welcomes home Rory who has been an SNWMF tradition at the Saturday night Dance Hall!
For four decades the mighty Stone Love sound system has set the bar for the Jamaican sound system movement, with the quality of its sound and selectors. Stone Love is renowned for its exclusive dubplates, some of which have launched the careers of artists such as Buju Banton, Wayne Wonder, Johnny Osbourne, Shabba Ranks, Sanchez, and Beenie Man.
Rory Gilligan AKA Rory Stone Love is a foundation of the sound system movement, a giant of the reggae world, one of the original selectors. His history with Stone Love commands nuff respect, and he has expanded his work to include records released on his own Rorystonelove label and the development of new artists.
He played a major role in the rise of Jah9, whose album, New Name, was produced by Rory. One of his most recent projects is singer Aleighcia Scott, with an album and singles coming out in March 2023.
