Reggae Rajahs

Reggae Rajahs are a reggae and bass music sound system crew based out of New Delhi, India. They are the first Jamaican style sound system in India.

Coming together for their love of reggae music in early 2009, the Rajahs started playing a mix of roots reggae, lovers rock, ska and dancehall music at venues across New Delhi. After hosting a Bob Marley tribute party in February 2009, DJ Mo City, Diggy Dang and General Zooz launched the soundsystem. By the summer of 2010, with a fan base established in their hometown, the Rajahs took their sound to major cities across India.

In the summer of 2011, Reggae Rajahs were crowned India’s first champion reggae sound (by defeating BASSFoundation in a very tightly contested Sound Clash.

In 2013 they launched Pressure Drop, a radio cast that gained them an international fanbase and secured invitations to play in places like Brazil, Poland and the Philippines. Pressure Drop plays on, an online radio station started by DJ MoCity. The crew later added Ziggy B and BeLights as additional members in 2015.

In 2016 the Rajahs created the Goa Sunsplash Festival, which is now India’s premier reggae celebration. After their debut at Goa Sunsplash, they also toured other major events in India including the Pune Supersonic festival. They have performed at festivals around the world in Europe, South America, and Southeast Asia, sharing the stage with artists such as Snoop Dogg and Major Lazer, Tippa Irie, Apache Indian, Mr Williamz, Brother Culture, Mungo’s HI Fi, Gaudi, Dub Phyzix, Supa Bassie & Sargento Garcia, Subatomic Sound, South Rakkas Crew and Dreadsquad.
