THE EXPANDERS

Coming out of
the Los Angeles roots reggae/ska
scene, The Expanders have been
playing their vintage style of
roots reggae since 1999.
Heavily
influenced by The Ethiopians,
The Gladiators and The Upsetters
and featuring three-part vocal
harmonies, The Expanders' goal
is to preserve the sounds of
Jamaican roots music. Though
they focus on producing music of
their own, The Expanders are
equally at home backing other
artists. They’ve had the honor
of playing behind legendary
singers like “The Ethiopian”
Leonard Dillon, Alton Ellis, Pat
Kelly and The Maytones. Members
of the band have also backed
Derrick Morgan, Stranger Cole,
Ken Boothe, Dennis Alcapone,
Rico Rodriguez, and Frankie
Paul.
