SOLDIERS
OF
JAH ARMY

Since it's formation in 1997 SOJA has come along way spreading original music
with a conscious message. Based out of the Washington D.C. area SOJA is rising up strong
and livicated on thier musical mission. While reggae is the root of the music, the
branches are strong with influences of rock, alternative and hip-hop, creating for them a
truly unique sound. Musically diverse and lyrically potent the band is "Going for
verses to move mountains and hillsides and striving for choruses to put the world in the
right stride" -Freedom Time, J.H.
In the Fall of 2000 SOJA recorded it's first EP (self-titled) with veteran
engineer and producer Jim Fox at legendary Lion & Fox Studios. This album provided a
solid foundation for their follow up full length album entitled "Peace In a Time of
War" (March 2003). Recieving international recognition, this CD helped establish SOJA
as a strong force in the new generation of reggae and conscious music. The fifteen tracks
on "Peace In a Time of War" "speak of today's conflicts with a level of
maturity that belies their youth."(Creation Steppin Radio's, John Reichle).

The music has been descibed as: "The kind of
reggae that takes every ounce of you attention- half of you is entranced in the beats,
while the other half is entranced in the dead-on, piercing, socially conscious
verses." (CDBaby.com Staff) From Montreal, Canada to San Juan,
Puerto Rico SOJA has reached people from all walks of life playing more than 140 shows in
2004. Their live performance is unforgettable and full of energy. This summer the band
will launch a national tour starting in DC heading to the other side of the country with
dates in California and many states along the way.
