Like iriea said, we warmed up Gentleman for RR. Great show at Slim's Sat. Got the feeling he was responsive to the crowd energy and there was a good back and forth goin on. Can only imagine what the huge outdoor crowd at RR was doing for him and the band's energy. Show's the benefit of an artist touring with his/her own band does for how tight they are.
The good crowds at Slim's and for Beres at the Independent the same nite as a big festival going on up north shows the area can support reggae. Seems like unless artists have big names then the crowd is much smaller. For example, people missed out on a big nite of Messenjah Selah and Arkiangelle with Blaak Lung at Ashkenaz which was one of the best shows of the year.
