Malika Madremana and the Greensphere Band are proud to bring to the West Coast a new summer reggae tour that is taking the industry and crowds by surprise….
Malika Madremana is a Puerto Rican sista from New York who has been singing, recording, and performing roots music for the past decade. She has toured with such legends as Apple Gabriel of Israel Vibration, the Mighty Diamonds, and Kymani Marley. She has sung backgrounds for esteemed artists like Bushman, Yami Bolo, Ras Shiloh, Wadi Gad, Ras Attitude, Batch, Groundation, and Roots Natty. Her debut album Healing, released in 2005, is one of the reggae genre’s best kept secrets and is well-loved and respected on the underground scene.
Malika’s newest release entitled “Elixir” is fresh out of production. The CD was produced by Alan “Eaygee” Gordon, AKA Blaaklung, out of Greensphere records. This new CD contains 16 tracks of conscious roots, rockers, and dancehall riddims played by living legend musicians such as Batch, Tuff Lion, Vince Black, Blaaklung, and Kenyatta Itola. The tracks are smooth yet militant; soothing yet radical; and the music is blessed with a vintage, yet eternal spirit.
The live stage show is on fire. Malika has teamed up with the Greensphere band, a group of talented Oakland-based musicians who have livicated themselves in the struggle to produce quality roots music. The band consists of both veteran and new talents who when combined produce a sound that is taking the Bay Area reggae fans by storm.
