Alpha Yaya Diallo
The past few years in Vancouver have been fortuitous forAlpha Yaya Diallo. The compilation album "Aduna" and the recent "TheMessage" on Wicklow Records are stunning musical journeys, with the tightguitar-driven arrangements drifting from Cuban to Spanish and back to thepan-African influences. Diallo toured extensively with Fatala, and recorded on the Real Worldrelease "Congoma Times." When the band stopped in Vancouver, Diallohopped off the train, waved goodbye, and proceeded to start his own bandBafing, which would take Canada by storm.
