The daughter of Jamaican and Guyanese parents, the multi-talented Tamara throws open a new door for reggae music: the violin.
A child prodigy and a graduate of the NYU School of Music, Tamara has been playing the violin (and many other instruments) since the age of four. She has opened for Bunny Wailer, Gregory Isaacs, Freddie McGregor, and Big Youth, and has performed most recently at the Reggae Culturama show in New York, sharing the stage with more "traditional" performers such as dancehall giant Beenie Man. She also "bowed" recently to demonstrate her support of Jamiaca at the the Reggae Boys celebration in France.
Tamara has been working on her debut CD, which will be released soon.
